"Pepe Vive" is Zef's first full-length LP (2015's Pop Ululation was a mini-LP). In the works for over two years, it was released online on February 6th, 2020. The LP is a reflection on life from the perspective of a wanderer who left his adoptive country, Canada, for Mediterranean life in Spain where he found love and opportunities to spread his wings. It speaks of life's universal ups and downs: uncertainty, apprehension, anxiety, discovery, destructive and constructive escape, love, societal frustrations and unity (or lack thereof). As Zef struggles to fit into a new culture on a new and overpopulated continent, more than ever, he feels a yearning to express himself through song. "Pepe Vive" is an accumulation of the bitter-sweetness associated with calling a new place "home".
